We put our old house in Fairfax, VA up for sale in May 2009. One of the conditions for sale was a complete remodeling of the kitchen. The remodeling was to begin on signing the contract and completed before closing on the house, a very tight window. Bill, president and CEO of WoodLand Custom Homes, LLC, was in there the first day and “hit the ground running.” In fact, he was there so often we decided to give him a house key. As in all remodeling projects there are delays when waiting for parts. Bill filled those days with rerouting electric wiring, installing ground fault indicators (the house was built in 1963), and installing some additional plumbing. The hard work and dedication from Bill and his employees paid off. The remodeling was completed prior to closing and within budget. This gave us an opportunity to review the work prior to any remodeling that may be required on our new home. Our new home in Warrenton, VA was built in 2008 (all wiring, plumbing, and ground fault indicators in the right places). The house had hardwood flooring in the main living area, but was carpeted on the second floor. We decided to remove the old carpeting on the second floor and install hardwood flooring. Because of our experience with WoodLand Custom Homes, LLC in Fairfax, we hired them to do the installation. Bill came out to the house, gave us a free estimate, we accepted, gave him a key to the house, and he “hit the ground running.” At the time we were living in a two bedroom apartment and so, once again Bill was under a tight time constraint.
